Oman has announced plans to open the A’Sharqiya Expressway for traffic starting from January 20, 2020. It starts from the Wilayat of Bidbid and ends in the Wilayat Al Kamil wa Al Wafi.

The Ministry of Transport said 191-km-long expressway, will be under a test period of 3 months during which period only light vehicles will be allowed to ply on the roads, reported Oman News Agency.
 
After the trial period, all heavy vehicles will be allowed to use the expressway, except those loaded with petrochemicals and dangerous materials.
