Dubai plans to build three new residential communities

DUBAI, April 11, 2018

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved plans for the development of three new residential communities in Dubai with a total of 10,000 plots, said a report.

This comes as part of the goverment's plan to create new eco-friendly residential communities featuring mosques, schools, parks and shops for Emiratis in Dubai, reported the state news agency Wam.

"We have ordered the allocation of new land plots as part of promoting the well-being and prosperity of Emirati citizens in Dubai," Sheikh Mohammed was quoted as saying.

The Dubai Ruler directed the housing authorities and Dubai Municipality to start the distribution and development process to ensure a comfortable life for citizens, it added.

Dawood Abdulrahman Al Hajiri, the director-general of Dubai Municipality said the civic body will take the necessary steps to implement the order of Sheikh Mohammed.

The new residential communities in Dubai include: Area One in ‘Al Ruwayyah Third' with a total area of 2,256 hectares comprising 8,428 land plots; Area Two in ‘Wadi Shabak’ with a total area of 232 hectares comprising 1,315 land plots; and Area Three in Mushrif with a total area of 59 hectares comprising 349 land plots. Each land plot in the allocated developments has an area of 1,115 square metres.

"The distribution of land plots to Emirati citizens, who have obtained approval from the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, will start soon," stated Al Hajiri.

The new residential communities will have mosques, schools, public parks, and retail shops as per the highest international sustainability standards, he added.
