Saudi Arabia awards cemetery maintenance contract

Saudi Arabia has awarded contracts worth over SR25 million ($6.6 million) to specialized national companies for operation and maintenance of graveyards in Makkah city, said a report.
The first contract, which will be for three years, will involve the operation of the graveyards at Al Maalah, Al Sharaie, Al Adl, Shuhada Al Haram and Bahra and transportation of deadbodies, reported the Saudi Gazette.
The second contract is in connection with the fencing of a number of graveyards across Makkah for one year, stated the report citing the Mayor Osama Albar.
The municipality has recently established, expanded and fenced a number of cemeteries and also constructed a number of facilities where the dead bodies are washed and prepared for burial, he added.
