Bahrain's Rent Disputes Resolution Committee has urged the government to implement a new property lease law to help boost the country's real estate investment and also protect the rights of both the landlords and tenants, said a report.

Committee president Judge Mai Mattar said once the law comes into force, all sealed lease contracts need to be registered, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Also, the real estate owners must expedite registration of the contracts before any dispute arises, she was quoted as saying in the report.

Mai Mattar said during a dispute, the decision of the committee can be challenged at the High Civil Court within 15 days of such decision.-TradeArabia News Service
