Dubai's RTA completes elevated structures at metro

DUBAI, November 30, 2014

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said it has completed works related to the elevated structures of all the 46 metro stations on both the Red and Green Lines in the UAE emirate.

The work involved the construction of robust metal structures and concrete barriers for metro viaducts and elevated structures for the nearby bridges across Dubai, said a statement from the RTA.

"Directional and cautionary signage have been installed asking vehicles exceeding 6 m in height to take an appropriate exit to ensure the sustainability of this vital and strategic facility, which integrates mass transit systems in Dubai in a smooth and secure manner,” remarked Maitha bin Udai, the chief executive of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency.

These vital bridges, which are open for public use round-the-clock, comprise roomy and air-conditioned corridors which also play host to cultural events and knowledge-based activities in the emirate, she added.-TradeArabia News Service
