French companies to be out in force at The Big 5

DUBAI, November 13, 2014

Forty leading French construction companies will be showcasing their innovative products at the upcoming The Big 5, a leading international trade show for the building and construction industry, to be held in Dubai, UAE.

UbiFrance, the French agency for international business development, will be hosting the 40-strong French group under their pavilion at the event which runs from November 17 to 20.

A key event for gaining access to the markets of the Middle East, The Big 5 had attracted 74,854 visitors from 124 countries and 2,747 exhibitors in 2013: figures that mark a return to optimism and which auger well for the 2014 edition.

For a number of years, French firms have been working to strengthen their presence in the Middle East either through major projects or by distributing products into the market that constantly incorporate new technologies, said the statement from UbiFrance.

France enjoys a reputation for reliability and quality, it added.

The French building sector is distinguished by the diversity and the quality and design of its products: innovative materials in the areas of smart buildings, home automation, sustainable and ecological buildings, energy efficiency and timber construction, it added.

In the Gulf, French companies mainly focus on the markets of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Since the first edition of the Big 5, France has been a regular at the show and even more so this year as over one third of the exhibitors will be appearing for the first time at the Big 5 and Middle East Concrete, which is co-located at the event, it added.

One of the firms, Atlantic, a leading multi energy solution provider, has been building a significant presence in the Gulf region, said the French agency.

A brand of Groupe Atlantic, the company is a major international manufacturer of electric heating and electric domestic hot water tanks.

Now with its Big 5 participation, the company aims to highlight its global solar solution for the Europe, Middle East and Africa  region.

Big 5 is hosting the commercial launch of Atlantic's new mixed renewable energies water heater as part of its wide portfolio of global solutions for both domestic and commercial applications.

The French company will be unveiling its Ondeo range of small capacity compact square water heater from 10 to 30 litres. In addition to this, it will also launch its solar solutions - Solerio Select and Corsun for both domestic and commercial applications from 150 to 2000 litres.

Another key exhibitor is Presto, a family-owned company that has been designing, manufacturing and marketing taps and fittings for all types of public sanitary facilities for the last three generations.

It will showcase Presto 1000XL DVA, a dual volume direct flush valve which allows a water saving of up to 90 per cent compared to a conventional flush.

The second flagship product to be unveiled is the Alpa timed flow shower mixer tap with waterproof concealed box and the  SO’O wash-basin mixer tap.

Present in over 80 countries, Presto is currently gearing up to open its subsidiary in Dubai. Exhibiting at The Big 5 in Dubai will provide the opportunity to meet its prospective customers in the region and to promote its new products, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
