Batelco unit seals partnership with security operations leader Expel

MANAMA, December 12, 2022

Beyon Cyber, a subsidiary of Bahrain's leading telecom services operator Batelco, has signed an exclusive partnership deal with global security operations leader Expel to provide managed detection and response (MDR) services in the region including the key markets of UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The agreement was sealed at the Arab International Cybersecurity Summit (AICS) held recently at the Exhibition World Bahrain.

Expel is a security operations provider that offers MDR, remediation, phishing support, and threat hunting services.

Through this partnership, Beyon Cyber will help boost the cyber threat detection and response capabilities for its enterprise customers within days instead of months taken by traditional security services providers.

A major player in the region, Beyon Cyber is focused on offering advanced end-to-end cyber-security solutions, with managed services and advisory to organizations across Bahrain and the region.

"As 50% of organizations world-wide are expected to adopt MDR services by 2025, it is clear that our region needs a world class MDR services provider,' remarked Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Daij Al Khalifa, the CEO of Beyon Cyber, after signing the deal with Chris Waynforth, Expel’s General Manager & VP for International Business.

"We’re delighted to bring Expel to the region and look forward to rolling out their globally-recognised solutions for companies, helping them to minimize business risks related to the constant threat of cyber-attacks," he stated.

Dr Shaikh Khalid said partnerships with leading companies such as Expel puts the Batelco unit at the forefront of cyber security services, thus provisioning and supporting its aspirations to change the security landscape in the region.

"We are committed to helping build new and advanced cyber security solutions that deliver unparalleled value to our clients," he added.

Waynforth pointed out that many organizations in the region had invested in quite a few different security tools.

"Our ‘bring-your-own-technology’ approach and API integrations with more than 85 security tools allow businesses to implement MDR capabilities within hours," he noted.

"Businesses can choose to protect everything – cloud, on-prem, or hybrid infrastructures, and SaaS apps – or just what they need. This flexible and transparent approach includes XDR (extended detection and response) capabilities that gives security teams full visibility across their security and business applications to help protect what matters most, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
