NBAD launches new mobile banking solution

ABU DHABI, May 20, 2015

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has launched a new mobile banking app is part of its strategy to upgrade all its banking channels including branches, website, online banking and ATMs.

NBAD Mobile Banking enables seamless engagement between customers and the bank, providing efficient and new customer-centric features and services such as the ‘Comfort Zone’, personalised dashboard with enhanced functionality and latest security features.

Abdulla Al Otaiba, senior managing director & Group Head of Global Retail & Commercial at NBAD, said: “We aim to build the largest, safest and best performing bank first in the UAE, and over time in the GCC. We recognised that technology is rapidly changing the way customers interact with us. With this in mind, we are upgrading all our channels and touch points aiming to offer the best possible access to our customers regardless of which channel they prefer.”

NBAD Mobile Banking is an integrated platform through which NBAD customers can manage their accounts and cards, transfer money to any bank account in the world, pay utility bills, and instantly block a card when needed.

The application also allows customers to connect immediately to the NBAD contact center, or through an email. The application comes with best-in-class security features. It allows only one registration for a unique mobile number and for easy access it requires only mobile password for every login.

“We have recently launched the new and interactive NBAD website. We are also upgrading our physical branches followed by an upgrade of our ATMs and online banking. It is a meticulous strategy to offer a world- class, market leading and consistently excellent customer experience to our valued customers,” Al Otaiba said.

Customers will be able to customise NBAD Mobile Banking dashboard to show the favourite options. This puts the information exactly where they want it so they can easily stay on top of their financial management. The unique ‘Comfort Zone’ feature allows users to set a maximum and minimum balance they are comfortable having in their accounts, hence, monitor the status of the account at a glance.

“It is expected that mobile banking users and usage will exceed 1.75 billion in 2019, representing 32 per cent of the global adult population. Today, the UAE stands at the forefront of mobile banking industry being among the highest in the world in terms of penetration,” said Al Otaiba.
