McClay ... plans to boost trade with GCC

Saudi, New Zealand in trade talks

RIYADH, February 14, 2015

Key Saudi Arabian officials concluded today (February 14) bilateral talks with visiting New Zealand Associate Trade Minister Todd McClay in Riyadh.

“My visit was an opportunity to further strengthen our relationship and highlight New Zealand’s commitment to partnering with Saudi Arabia in areas including food security, infrastructure, and services,” said McClay.

“It also gave me an opportunity to share New Zealand’s expertise in asset management and government services, and to build on the already strong relationships in the region,” he added.

New Zealand exports $600 million worth of product into Saudi Arabia. Total two way trade between the two countries is $1.5 billion.

“New Zealand views the GCC as an important trading partner,” McClay said.

McClay has also visited the United Arab Emirates and Qatar during his week-long visit to the region. – TradeArabia News Service
