Business networking in focus at key Bahrain forum

MANAMA, February 13, 2015

The 63rd World Congress of Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), to be held in Bahrain next month, will feature a high-level B2B networking event, the Bahrain Business and Professional Women International Federation (BPW) announced yesterday.

The congress itself is being held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and president of the Supreme Council for Women, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The B2B event is lined up on the second day of the four-day congress from March 23 to 26.

The objectives of the special B2B event are to provide an opportunity for the more than 500 delegates expected to attend from around the world to engage and interact.

The event will serve as a platform to encourage networking and for the creation of new business partnerships across borders and sectors.

Women taking part are some of the most successful entrepreneurs from the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

Joining BPW Bahrain, which is chaired by Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, in the organisation of the event is the Council of Arab Business Women headed by Shaikha Hissah Al Sabah of Kuwait, the FCEM ambassadress for the Arab world.

Support is also being extended by the Economic Development Board and Tamkeen as strategic partners.

"We are dedicating a full afternoon for B2B meetings at the congress," Shaikha Hind said.

She said by putting business people from different regions and sectors together, it is hoped that new ideas can be generated and new ventures established.

"We are expecting great initiatives and results through trade agreements and contracts."

Shaikha Hind said the organisers were approaching individuals, corporates and other organisations to take part in meetings, which she said, would open doors for new businesses all over the world despite the challenging market conditions.

FCEM president Laura Frati Gucci said she expected the forum in Bahrain to provide an excellent platform for women business leaders taking part to explore new opportunities for co-operation and business growth. - TradeArabia News Service
