DGCX appoints head of Soft Commodities

Dubai, June 12, 2014

Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) has appointed Sanjeev Vohra as the head of Soft Commodities.

Vohra, who has over nine years of experience in product and business development in the Exchange industry, will be responsible for developing new products and exploring growth opportunities for DGCX in the soft commodities sector.

Ian Wright, chief business officer of DGCX said: “Sanjeev Vohra’s expertise and knowledge will be a key asset in our efforts to develop our offerings in soft commodities, a sector that is a vital part of our portfolio expansion strategy. DGCX is exploring the introduction of a range of agricultural products that will meet the hedging and investment needs of the regional marketplace."

Before joining DGCX, Vohra worked as vice president - Business Development & Marketing with Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX). In this role, he was responsible for developing the Exchange’s business in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Middle-East and South Asia.

Vohra obtained his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India, specialising in Agribusiness Management. – TradeArabia News Service
