Global Payment Services wins key certification

Manama, March 13, 2014

Bahrain-based Global Payment Services Company (GPS), a third-party processor specialising in outsourcing electronic payment, said it has been accredited and certified again for Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance.

PCI-DSS is a globally-accepted security standard adopted in the payment card industry to secure sensitive cardholder information during transmission and storage.

"PCI-DSS audit is an annual process, which is a very important aspect of our business to ensure that we meet the compliance and protection of our systems and clients' information in accordance with latest internationally-accepted security standards," GPS general manager Ali Arab was quoted as saying in the GDN.

The certification process was carried out by global information security firm, SISA Information Security.

"We have been working with SISA for the past three years, which has been a wonderful and very beneficial experience in providing the highest-level of security compliance," remarked Arab.

GPS is accredited by Visa, MasterCard, JCB and PCI-DSS to serve issuing and acquiring banks and financial institutions.

"PCI-DSS compliance is one of the most stringent security standards in the world," stated Dharshan Shanthamurthy, the chief executive of SISA Information Security.

"The industry-wide standard aims to increase protection against fraud by limiting exposure of secure data for both online and offline transactions," he added.
