Oman Air to host Tehran flights’ ceremony

Muscat, September 23, 2012

Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate, will hold an inaugural ceremony on September 24 for the recent launch of its new service between Muscat and Tehran.

A traditional cake-cutting ceremony was held at Muscat International Airport, following which the Oman Air delegation, headed by Abdul Razak bin Juma al Raisi, the chief commercial officer; comprising Omani media and senior management members of Oman Air, departed to Tehran.

A gala dinner is planned as part of the inaugural ceremony at Al Istiqlal Hotel in Tehran, a statement from the airline company said.

“The chief guest for the evening will be Dr Salem Bin Nasser Al Ismaily, chief of the Public Authority of Investment Promotion and Export Development (Paiped) Oman; on behalf of the Oman delegation, and Ali Nikzad Samrin - Minister of Roads & Urban Development from the Iran delegation. The guests will also have the opportunity to watch a promotional film about Oman and Oman Air.”

Utilising Oman Air’s latest Embraer E175 regional jets, which offer outstanding levels of space, comfort and amenity, the new service confirms and strengthens the historic links between Oman and Iran, the statement said.

Not only does it offer Omani and Iranian citizens the opportunity to discover the attractions of each other’s countries, but passengers from further afield can now fly to Tehran whilst experiencing Oman Air’s legendary hospitality, it said.

The launch follows Oman Air’s success at this summer’s World Airline Award, where it won ‘World’s Best Business Class Airline Seat’, and also achieved top-ten positions in eight other categories, including ‘Best Airline Staff Service in the Middle East’.

The new flights will enable passengers to experience this service aboard Oman Air’s brand new Embraer aircraft, which offer 11 business class and 60 economy class seats, each with personal seat-back in-flight entertainment monitors which offer access to the latest range of music, movies, TV shows, games and information.

Attentive hospitality and delicious in-flight dining ensure that every passenger enjoys the very best of 21st Century air travel, whilst additional convenience is offered through web booking, online check-in and, for business class customers, a complimentary door-to-door limousine service. – TradeArabia News Service
