Abu Dhabi science fest e-tickets on sale

Abu Dhabi, September 16, 2012

The tickets for the second edition of Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF), which runs from October 10 to 20 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), have been launched online, said the organisers.

An event dedicated to the engagement and inspiration of the nation’s children with science related hands-on activities, the ADFS is a strategic initiative by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC).

The festival will be held at Adnec, the Corniche (West Plaza), in addition to bespoke locations at Al Ain and Al Gharbiyah. Last year it attracted more than 100,000 visitors.

The festival is dedicated to the engagement and inspiration of our nation’s children with science related hands-on activities as part of a wider plan geared towards building Abu Dhabi’s talent base in science, technology and innovation, said a statement from TDC.

"The release of advance online tickets for the thrilling experiences at Adnec enables visitors to maximise their access to the hugely popular activities and avoid waiting time at entry as well as for favourite shows and workshops," it added.

The Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2012 has an exciting array of activities designed specifically to motivate the children, instilling a passion for science and ultimately inspiring them to pursue related careers.

They can laugh at the magic of physics with the spectacle of comedian Rhys Thomas and his messy tricks. Marvel at the Magic Globe, watching how the moon’s shadow plunges us into night and discover more about the men and women who risk their lives to explore our galaxy.

The children can also bring to life their favourite crime busting TV Forensic Scientists in our special Crime Scene Investigation workshop.

Most of the festival’s shows and workshops run on a periodical basis and have limited capacity. This year, the new online ticket service will enable families and children to plan their participation in favourite activities and make the most of their time at the festival, said the TDC officials.

The tickets for one show, two workshops and a full day access to interactive exhibits have been priced at Dh10 for children aged 5 to 15, while for adults (above 16) the prices are Dh5 includes a show and full day access to interactive exhibits.

The festival is being organized in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Edinburgh International Science Festival, Tawazun, Dolphin Energy and in affiliation with Adnoc, Etihad Airways, Total and Masdar, and produced by Flash Entertainment.-TradeArabia News Service
