Intel, McAfee to promote cloud confidence
Dubai, October 8, 2012
Intel and McAfee will address cloud computing and security concerns during the upcoming Gitex Technology Week, a major ICT show, opening next week in Dubai.
The IT companies will focus on tackling four key areas that include securing cloud data centers, securing the network connections, securing the devices that connect to cloud services and accelerating the development of unified standards for cloud security.
“We believe that users should have access to a worry-free cloud computing environment that is protected by the best-in-class IT security,” said Nassir Nauthoa, Intel general manager, GCC, commenting on the need for enhanced cloud security.
“At Intel we are seeking to deliver better security for cloud environments while also enabling a broad range of open, interoperable security solutions through industry collaborations with partners such as McAfee.”
Intel and McAfee announced a new shared mission to tackle cloud security challenges in the region with the goal of fostering confidence in the use of private, public and hybrid clouds.
Through a series of holistic approaches, the collaboration intends to display that the potential security levels of cloud computing can be more secure than traditional, current top of the line IT security.
Hamed Diab, managing director, Mena said: "We are fully committed to the Middle East market and Gitex Technology Week offers us the perfect platform to interact with our customers and partners.”
“In 2012, despite market challenges, we were able to invest for the future. Our goal is to support our regional customers and partners in achieving long-term, profitable business growth. Gitex offers us the opportunity to showcase our security product portfolio for the customers and understand market trends that impact our business.”
