Epicor ranked in top 500 software firms
Dubai, October 1, 2012
Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions, announced recently its inclusion in Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers.
Featured in the September issue of the publication and online softwaremag.com, this year’s Software 500 list places Epicor in the top 20 per cent of software companies based on 2011 software and services revenues of $762.9 million, and number four in the top 10 growth chart for companies from $100 million to $1 billion in revenue.
“It is an honor to be recognized once again as one of the world’s largest and leading software providers by Software Magazine,” said Pervez Qureshi, president and CEO for Epicor.
“Congratulations goes to our 4,000 employees in making our listing in the top 10 growth chart possible, through their continued commitment to providing innovative and groundbreaking technology solutions to our customers worldwide that drive high return on investment and business success.”
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers, targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers, and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.
“The 2012 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was again healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $643.6 billion worldwide for 2011, representing approximately 19 per cent growth from the previous year’s list,” said John P Desmond, editor of Software Magazine.
“The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers, and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners. It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version, to be posted soon at softwaremag.com, is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software.”
Software Magazine’s ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2011.
This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. – TradeArabia News Service
