ROVOP expands in Middle East with new base

DUBAI, November 11, 2018

Scotland-based ROVOP, an independent provider of subsea remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services, has expanded in the Middle East – opening a new base in the region to offer the highest quality ROV service.

Two senior members of staff, operations director Doug Middleton and business development consultant Michael O’Donnell, will staff the new Middle East operation. The pair will be relocating to the region to lead the expansion of services to clients, said a statement from the company.

The Middle East will now have the largest independent ROV operator providing the highest quality services to clients across the drill support, IRM, and construction markets within the oil and gas sector, underpinned by operational excellence and a diverse fleet of ROVs, all managed and operated in-country, it said.

Middleton said: “We look forward to expanding our services and number of clients in the Middle East – which will be bolstered by having a hub in the region, along with the provision of a quality of ROV service that was not widely available there previously.”

“Our company already has equipment on the ground in the region, and so is ready to fulfil our customers’ needs immediately in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar,” he added.

The company is currently expanding, having added 19 ROVs to its fleet last month, bringing ROVOP’s total operational fleet to 51, said a statement.

The addition of these ROV systems to the fleet will enable ROVOP to better support customers with the appropriate ROVs for their requirements based on capability and greater cost efficiency.

These systems will perfectly match the needs of customers in the region for a higher quality but cost-effective service.

Steven Gray, chief executive officer at ROVOP, said: “We have continued to provide the highest quality service and ROV offerings to our clients over the past seven years.”

“Our goal of having a base located in the Middle East is to continue our excellent track record of service and to offer our newly expanded ROV fleet to our clients in the region,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
