Planting a tree as part of the initiative
Emerson promotes green education among UAE school students
DUBAI, March 21, 2023
Emerson, a global technology and software company, has collaborated in the UAE with Treedom, a web-based platform that promotes a culture of environmental sustainability, to inculcate sustainability among school students.
As part of Emerson’s sustainability education initiatives and commitment to sustainable practices, the company conducted a series of engaging discussions and activities with primary students from four schools in the UAE: Le Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé Meydan, Dubai British School, GEMS Modern Academy and Dubai American Academy. During the visits, students discussed sustainability initiatives and participated in a tree planting activity at the school. Each student left with a Treedom web link to their own seed that they will virtually plant. Around 1,000 trees were donated during the visits.
“We are delighted to collaborate with schools that share similar sustainability goals and aspire to ensure a cleaner and greener future for everyone through embedding these values in their students,” said Janka O’Brien, director of sustainability of Emerson’s Middle East & Africa business.

“We strive to engage youth in environmental sustainability education and awareness. Through these collaborations, we are also supporting hundreds of farmers across the globe while doing our part to reduce the environmental impact of carbon emissions.”
Emerson’s collaboration with Treedom in the UAE is just one step in its wider efforts to support environmental sustainability. In 2020, Emerson established its ‘Greening Of, Greening By, and Greening With’ strategic framework, with an aim to contribute to global efforts in achieving sustainability.
The current Treedom initiative, which comes under the ‘Greening With’ initiative of Emerson, reflects the company’s objective of collaborating on sustainability programmes with academic institutions and industry groups, government agencies and energy sectors.-- TradeArabia News Service
