The American University in Dubai’s (AUD) School of Architecture, Art and Design, has held a competition for the fall 2011 semester Interior Design students.

The competition which was dubbed, “AUD Best Interior Design Studio Project,” was held at the Pavilion Downtown Dubai, a statement from the university said.

The event was organised and moderated by Annamaria Lambri and Albert Fakhoury, assistant and associate professors of Architecture and Interior Design at AUD, respectively, and involved the 100 students enrolled in studio-based courses in the fall semester.

First place was granted to “The Steve Jobs Project,” executed by third year AUD students Erum Kamal, Sarah Azmy, Silvia Nagy, and Reem Moussalli, as part of their Interior Design Studio IV course assignment, the statement said.

Fourth year Universal Design students Asmaa Said, Alysha Nasir, and Ramy Makhaly came in second with their artwork titled, “Oppositio,” and the third place went to Inji Khalil, Rana Ahmed, Rahma Moustafa, Farah Ataya, and Marwa Al Shaibani, third year Interior Design Studio IV students, for their project, “The Slanted House.”

The Mention Award was won by fourth year students Hanyieh RastiLari and Maryam Kasaeian, for their “Living in a Diamond” project, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
