Revamped W Maldives to reopen in March

After nearly two decades as a trailblazer in luxury hospitality, W Maldives is set to reopen in March 2025 with a bold, full-scale renovation that redefines the island escape.

As the first W Hotel to undergo the brand’s global rebranding initiative, every detail of the resort has been thoughtfully transformed, from redesigned overwater and beach villas with private pools and breathtaking ocean views to cutting-edge dining concepts and a rejuvenated bar scene, ensuring an elevated experience that stays true to the resort’s liberated spirit, said a statement.

Set on Fesdu Island in North Ari Atoll, just 25 minutes by seaplane from Malé, the reopening of W Maldives features 77 refreshed overwater and beach villas, blending indoor and outdoor living through its harmonious use of bio-boho design. The villas have been upgraded with luxurious outdoor spaces, offering seamless connections to the surrounding natural beauty.

The transformation extends to the resort’s dining and bar scene, with bold new concepts like the Ocean-to-Table experience at FISH, Nikkei cuisine and Latin American cocktails at SIP and beachside barbecue at FIRE.

In line with W Hotels’ forward-thinking ethos, W Maldives will introduce a suite of sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the resort’s environmental impact. These include the elimination of single-use plastic bottles and amenities, the installation of a bio-gas plant to recycle food waste into organic fertilizer and methane gas, and a planned in-house herb and fruit plantation to promote self-sufficiency by the end of 2025.

Public spaces have also been enhanced to create an inviting, playful environment that reflects the resort’s energetic spirit and embodies its role as The Original Wavemaker. - TradeArabia News Service
