Lufthansa promises European winter experiences for regional travellers

Middle East, including Dubai, is the highlight of the winter flight schedule of Lufthansa that flies to more than 200 destinations in 75 countries, including 188 international destinations. The region’s easy accessibility through medium-haul routes is especially crucial during the European winter.

In an interview to TTN, a Lufthansa representative presents the airline’s plans to expand its winter offerings, in addition to sustainability measures.

1. Why did you think it was a good time to visit the Middle East, especially Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah?

There are three main reasons for expansion of our winter flight schedule to Middle East:

First: Dubai is one of the world's most popular holiday destinations and an easily accessible medium-haul route with a flight time of around six to seven hours, which is especially important in the European winter.

Second: With Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah, we are expanding our winter offering to sunny holiday destinations. This strengthens our DNA as a holiday airline and helps us to balance our seasonality.

Third: We have expanded our fleet with efficient and longer-range Airbus Neo medium-haul jets.

2. How does Eurowings measure and control its environmental impact?

As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings is subject to the same ambitious targets that the Group has set itself. We also offer a special fare “Blu Planet” for our passengers who like to support lower-emission-flying.

3. Is it important to introduce an LCC product between Europe/Germany and the Middle East?

Rather, we are convinced that it is important to introduce a value product that allows customers to organise their air travel according to their own needs!

With fares from AED 950 to Cologne-Bonn, for example, Eurowings offers an attractive entry-level price for smart travellers.
