Emerald Collection introduces brand to Mideast market

Emerald Collection, an Italian group of luxury all-inclusive properties across East Africa and the Indian Ocean, recently visited the UAE for the first time to introduce its brand and collection to the Middle East market.

Greta Scarapicchia, Branding & Communication Manager, said: “The Emerald Collection is Italian family-owned company of all–inclusive luxury properties.  The Scarapicchia Family opened its first Emerald brand in the Maldives Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa in 2019.”

“The 20-hectare resort is located in in the North of Maldives with 120 villas, half on the island, and the other half, overwater villas.  This property was a great success and therefore lead them to open a second property in the Maldives at the end of 2022, the 7-hectare  80-villa Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa  also with a mix of island and overwater villas.

“This resort was bought from Universal Resorts , where our first, was a new build on a virgin Island.  These two resorts are only 25 minutes by speed boat from each other therefore, guest can experience two different properties with two different designs and feel.

“We extended the brand to East Africa with a third property in Zanzibar Emerald Zanzibar Resort and Spa.  Located in Muyumi Matemwe on the north east coast Zanzibar,  is a 250-all-suite modern African styled property.   Zanzibar, like the Maldives, is easily accessible from the GCC.  All of these resorts are members of Leading Hotels of the World,” she added.

Chief Commercial offer Simone Scarapicchia  spoke about the history of the family company.

“The Scarapicchia group started over 40 years ago  by Greata and my father.  At just 19 years old they had a passion about skiing and the started organising ski trips and winter holidays for family and friends,” said Scarapicchia.

“From this they opened a travel agency and after two years the skiing holidays became a  such a huge  success that they expanded into organising  summer holidays.  Soon after this, they started construction and managing Luxury Resorts in Kenya and Zanzibar before expanding into Mexico and Caribbean. Today, their luxury and hospitality experience is reflected in the Emerald Collection.” – TradeArabia News Service
