Almar consortium breaks ground on major Aramco water plant

Saudi-based Almar Water Solutions, a leading global water services provider, has joined hands with its consortium partners to break ground on the Zuluf Water Treatment Plant, a major project of global oil giant Aramco.

It is the first outsourcing of a water project under a public private partnership (PPP) agreement that Aramco has launched.

For the execution and operation of the plant, Almar Water Solutions is collaborating with a consortium comprising Saudi group Al Jomaih Energy and Water Company (AEW), Italian EPC contractor Fisia Italimpianti and Aquatech International, a leading global provider of water and process technology solutions based in Pennsylvania, US.

The project is being implemented on a BOOT (build, own, operate and transfer) model for a 25-year tenure.

On completion, the Zuluf Water Treatment Plant will boast a 185,000 cu m per day capacity, contributing significantly to sustainable water solutions in Saudi Arabia.
