Jumeirah Muscat Bay to hold open-water swimming contest

Jumeirah Muscat Bay, a luxury destination for adventure and wellness, is inviting swimmers from around the world to take part in a unique open-water swimming competition for the first time in the sultanate, from January 10-11, 2025.

Omswim 3.2, will feature the Olympic 10km marathon race category, in addition to 1.5km, 2.5km, 5km and 10km race segments.

The inaugural edition that is being organised in partnership with Middle East Global Events (MGE), a leader in sports event management, will be set against the breathtaking backdrop of Al Hajar Mountain Range and the Gulf of Oman.

The event that marks the beginning of an annual tradition celebrating the sultanate’s storied maritime heritage, offers swimmers an opportunity to compete in one of the region’s most stunning coastal settings.

Set to take place in the crystal-clear waters just off the coast of Jumeirah Muscast Bay’s sun-kissed shores, Omswim 3.2 promises to be an unforgettable experience for amateur and seasoned competitors and spectators.

With more than 200 participants and more than 1,000 spectators expected, Jumeirah Muscat Bay will provide comprehensive infrastructure, including a race expo village, stage, podium, and start/finish line arches, as well as a dedicated safety team and kayak support on the water.

To further elevate this extraordinary experience, Jumeirah Muscat Bay is offering exclusive accommodation and dining packages tailored for athletes and their families.
