National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) has received a letter of award from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) for the construction of Al Nouf artificial island.
A leading provider of dredging, reclamation, and marine construction projects in the Middle East, NMDC has a strong local and regional presence with a number of upcoming projects in Southeast Asia and South Asia regions.
As per the $137-million contract, NMDC will build an artificial island at Al Nouf located west of Abu Dhabi city, said the company in its filing to the Abu Dhabi bourse.
This win comes close on the heels of NMDC's recent clinching of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Adnoc for its Hail & Ghasha Development Project in Abu Dhabi.
The contract, which was won by NMDC subsidiary National Petroleum Construction Company, is the largest project ever awarded to the NMDC Group.
It involves construction of four drilling centres and a processing plant to be built on artificial islands, as well as various offshore structures and more than 300 km of subsea pipelines.
NPCC also snapped up another big order worth AED805 million ($219 million) from Adnoc Offshore last year for a pipeline replacement project. The scope of work involved replacement of 125 km of 20' main oil line (MOL) from Umm Lulu to Zirku Island.-TradeArabia News Service
