Bahrain promotes tourism identity at Riyadh travel forum

MANAMA, February 13, 2017

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) took part in the second-edition of the Travel and Tourism Pioneers Forum 2017 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The delegation was headed by director of Tourism Marketing and Promotions at BTEA, Yousif Al Khan.

The two-day event brought together prominent and leading travel and tourism experts from across the region including tourism officials, travel agents, hoteliers and so forth.

“Bahrain boasts strong historical ties with Saudi Arabia. It is vital that we take part in initiatives and events that is of bilateral importance including tourism related activities,” said Al Khan.

“The tourism industry is one of the main contributors to the national economy and indirectly revitalizes other commercial sectors,” he added.

BTEA’s participation during the event featured a booth that showcased five hotels from the kingdom - Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, Orange Suites, Crowne Plaza, Golden Tulip and the Regency Intercontinental Hotel.

The tourism identity 'Ours.Yours.Bahrain', which was heavily promoted at the event, was launched last year in a step to further develop the tourism sector as a main contributor to the national economy by elevating the industry, attracting investors and providing a suitable environment to incubate tourism projects. - TradeArabia News Service
