Abu Dhabi hotel occupancy levels up 1.3pc

Hotels in Abu Dhabi reported a stronger performance across key  performance metrics in May with occupancy levels jumping 1.3 per cent to 74.4 per cent year-over-year, said a report.

The UAE capital's hospitality sector also witnessed higher levels of demand (over 5.3 per cent) and supply (over 4 per cent), said a preliminary report released by STR, a hotel data benchmarking company. However, average daily rate (ADR) dipped 4.1 per cent to Dh433.10 ($117.9) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) also fell 2.9 per cent to Dh322.06 ($87.6).

According to the report, the performance was helped by the Isra and Mi'raj holiday, which boosted May 5 occupancy to 95.4 per cent and ADR to Dh558.59 ($152). Occupancy on May 6 reached 86.8 per cent, and ADR was Dh529.86 ($144.2). - TradeArabia News Service
