Oman Air and Dhaka officials celebrate the new route.

Oman Air to increase Dhaka flights

MUSCAT, November 3, 2015

Oman Air plans to increase its frequencies to Dhaka, Bangladesh beginning December 1, from four flights a week to six flights a week on its award-winning A380 carrier.

The new route has been in service since October 25 with four flights per week on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The new frequencies will see flights on Mondays and Wednesdays being added to the schedule in December.

An inaugural cake-cutting ceremony was held at Oman Air’s First and Business Class check-in area at the Muscat International Airport. The event was attended by chief guest, Hamed Khamis Al Amri, undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Employment.

As part of the three-day inaugural event programme, Oman Air will hold a media conference addressing the Bangladeshi media, open a new Oman Air office in Dhaka and hold a gala dinner function which will see high-ranking dignitaries from Bangladesh and Oman take part.

The programme will offer hosted media and VIP guests a range of tours and experiences which will give them a unique insight into what the huge diversity and natural beauty of Bangladesh offers for visitors.

The launch of the Dhaka service marks the carrier’s ambitious programme of growth, which will see the airline’s fleet strength increase from its current 40 aircraft to around 57 in 2018 and increasing to 70 aircraft by 2020.

The expanded fleet will enable Oman Air to offer customers a greater choice of destinations, increased frequencies on established routes and more convenient connections at Muscat International Airport. It will also offer unbeatable levels of comfort and amenity, building on Oman Air’s reputation for offering an outstanding passenger experience. – TradeArabia News Service
