DIJW to attract 500 brands

Dubai International Jewellery Week (DIJW) is expecting to attract more than 500 brands from 30 countries and over 20,000 visitors, designers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
To be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the first two events, Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai - ‘Retail and Trade’, is set for November 11 to 15, while the ‘Luxury’ event - Areeq Dubai, which includes brands from the crème-de-la crème of the jewellery world, will be held from November 13 to 15.
The 2008 Dubai International Jewellery Week will continue to be the benchmark for the hottest industry jewellery trends from the latest in brilliant jewels, dramatic necklaces to cultured pearls and coloured stones. With something for everyone, including an unprecedented number of enhanced features and a smartly organised show floor, the five-day show will be the must-attend autumn event in Dubai, said an official spokesman.
“The new format which was unveiled at last years event was an unparalleled success, and we aim to build on that foundation this year,” said senior vice-president, exhibitions and vvents management, Dubai World Trade Centre, Trixee Loh.
“The audience instantly connected with the more customer-focussed approach to the show, and with the jewellery market continuing to scale new heights in the region we have managed to attract more premier exhibitors for this year’s event.”
This year’s event will bring together Jewellery Collections Dubai and Jewellery Trade Dubai to form the ultimate jewellery-shopping event, with an unlimited potential for the most refined buying and networking experience. These events will offer a comprehensive retail and trade experience to visitors and exhibitors and will also provide a first-class ambience for serious purchases.
The crowning glory of DIJW, Areeq Dubai, will showcase only the world’s most prestigious brands, unique pieces and collector’s items, making it a one-of-a-kind glamour event for the region’s high society.
Adding to the list of prestigious companies on display at this year’s event will be Breitling Watches, renowned for making some of the finest timepieces in the world. The world’s limited and richest creations from Charles Oudin and Jacob & Co to name a few, will also add to the glamour of Areeq Dubai.
Besides individual participation DIJW will also bring the world to Dubai by hosting several national pavilions, visitors to the show will be treated to an infusion of beauty, elegance, and fine craftsmanship by some of the exquisite international creations from China, India, Italy, Hong Kong, Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan and Turkey.
Dubai International Jewellery Week will also add a knowledge exchange element to the show by delivering various workshops, offering visitors and exhibitors a chance to find out the latest in jewellery trends and designs while at the same time offering a refresher for those in the industry.
Up and coming jewellery designs will also be featured in the various fashion catwalks throughout the five-day affair while other entertainment highlights will include numerous raffles giving lucky visitors a chance to walk away with some exciting prizes.
