NAIROBI, April 2, 2017

More than 200 policy makers, governmental organisations, investors and technology leaders are expected to take part in the inaugural Africa Renewable Energy Leaders Summit (ARELS) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The event runs on April 4 and 5 at the Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi.

The meeting will focus on enhancing the renewable energy market and expanding opportunities locally and abroad.

Under the patronage of Charles Keter, MGH, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum in Kenya, the event will offer insightful and edifying keynote discussions covering a range of subjects spanning from alternative renewable technologies to Aligning policy, investment and infrastructure development to drive sustainable energy outcomes.

During the summit, there will be valuable opportunities to network with key decision and policy makers who are involved in over 100 renewable energy developments across East Africa.

Contributing to the list of proposed projects, ARELS will also serve to facilitate face to face meet and greets with global investors and partners in control of $5 billion looking for clean energy prospects in the continent. Some industry leaders taking part in this historic summit are Back 2 Back group, Enviromena Power Systems, TUV Rheinland, Yellow Door Energy, Gamesa, and Green Wish Partners.

Key Investment Opportunities

The East Africa region has seen numerous positive results in its efforts to become one of the world leaders in the production of renewable energy. “Renewables represented 87 per cent of the energy mix at the start of 2017 within Kenya,” ASOKO Insights, ARELS’ Intelligence Partner, reports. This, along with other encouraging statistics exemplifies why investing in the region is essential to producing a more sustainable tomorrow.

“We are proud to introduce the first Africa Renewable Energy Leaders Summit as a new dedicated platform for local and global industry leaders and stakeholders to network and discuss the future of renewable energy in East Africa. The Summit will unveil the immense investment opportunities in this sector, further enhancing the development of Kenya and the surrounding region,” said Josine Heijmans, event director.

Moreover, ARELS will hold an additional avenue to facilitate networking opportunities among its guests. A safari networking event after the conference will take place showcasing the diverse environment only found in Kenya. – TradeArabia News Service
