GAC Motors enters new stage after Dubai show debut

DUBAI, December 15, 2015

GAC Motors has gained global recognition as a leader in the Chinese automobile industry following the debut of its second generation automobles at the recently concluded Dubai Interantional Motor Show.

The GAC models at the show include GS5 Super, GA6, GS4 and the all-new 1.5T engine, said a statement.

As a representative of Chinese automobile brands, GAC Motor has not only overturned the stereotypical images of Chinese car brands with their persistence in maintaining high international standards for quality, safety and design, but also the ability to deliver continuous technological innovations to strengthen the company's competitiveness in the global market, it said.

Meanwhile, the domestic automobile market is seeing a growing trend this year that emphasises strong support for local car brands.

The all-new GS4 has become one of the most promising cars developed by GAC Motor. It's now the third bestselling SUV in China.

Wu Song, general manager, GAC Motor, said: "2015 will be the watershed for the development of China's automobile industry as well as the starting point for the rise of Chinese brands.

"In the next 10 years, the Chinese automobile industry, represented by GAC Motor, is set to become a powerful force in the global automobile market."

From January to October this year, the accumulated sales of GAC Motor reached 137,000 with a year-on-year growth of 59 per cent. It is predicted that the annual goal will be surpassed with sales volume reaching 180,000.

Targeting the mid and high-end markets, GAC Motor's strong advantages in quality and performance as well as an international vision has carried the company forward.

Over the eight years, GAC Motor has created the GAC production system (GPS) that integrates several advanced production systems to meet the fast changing market demands as well as establishing international supply chain systems in Europe, America, Japan and South Korea, among which the European and American account for 35 per cent, Japanese and South Korean 15 per cent and China-invested enterprises 50 per cent.

"China's automobile industry is accelerating the integration to step into the information age of automobile manufacturing," said Song.

"Chinese car brands led by GAC Motor are actively expanding in the global market to create a new era for Chinese cars, catching up and surpassing joint-venture brands in the domestic market while standing firm internationally," he added. - TradeArabia News Service
