Hyundai Genesis for cricket tournament

Hyundai Motor Company has handed over the keys to 18 of its premium Hyundai Genesis models to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai as part of its on-going official partnership with the global governing body of the sport.

The vehicles will be used by the teams and tournament officials for the ICC U19 World Cup in the UAE, which is takes place between February 14 and March 1. The tournament will see the world’s best young cricketers representing 16 top teams from across the globe in a bid to be crowned world champions.

With stylish design, high-tech features and refined levels of comfort, the Genesis fleet will provide a comfortable way for the cricket teams, match officials and tournament staff to travel between the three emirates where the event will take place – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

The official handover ceremony was held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium – the venue that will stage the Final of the tournament – and was attended by representatives from Hyundai and the ICC.

Tom Lee, head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Headquarters, said: “Hyundai Motor has always had a strong affiliation with top-class sporting events and organisations, and the ICC is one of our most important partners. For the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, we wanted to once again offer the best of our range to the ICC to help them run what is sure to be another extremely successful event.”
