UAE declares April 23 as Israa and Miraj holiday

DUBAI, April 9, 2017

The UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that April 23 will be an official holiday for ministries and other federal authorities to mark the 'Israa and Miraj'.

Work will resume on April 24, a Wam report said.

The official holiday marking Israa and Miraj will be on April 22 (Saturday) for all workers in private sector enterprises, institutions and companies in the country where Friday is the only weekly day off, while April 23 will be the official holiday marking the Islamic occasion for those who have Fridays and Saturdays as their weekly days off, according to a ministerial circular.
