UAE police departments get ISO certification

The UAE interior ministry said all the police departments across the country have obtained the international ISO 9001:2008 certification, giving their practices the stamp of quality.
This project was carried out by a team of experienced officers from the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior.
“The Ministry of Interior’s 2014-2016 strategy paves the way to achieve the goals. It is the essential pillar and core element of the police institution’s vision as it sets its priorities and endeavors towards its objectives." remarked Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, the secretary general of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
"This approach will be clearly evident within the next few days, across all police departments, which have adopted the quality concept as a standard for daily life police work," stated Al Nuaimi.
Col Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, the Strategy and Performance Development director general, said this achievement reflects the Ministry of Interior’s vision, which endeavors efficiently to make the UAE one of the safest and most secure countries in the world.
Colonel Al Dhaheri commended the directives of the police leadership, which firmly believes that excellence is an essential component of the strategic development process, and the pillar of success and leadership in all areas of work.
“Obtaining this certification is an achievement made by all sectors of the Ministry of Interior, thanks to their commitment to excellence and success," he added.
Lt Col Dr Saeed Matar Al Suraidi, the head of Quality Department and project director, said: "The ISO 9001:2008 was given following an accurate, detailed review of all work procedures followed at the regulatory units of the Police General Headquarters."
