US burger chain to open outlets in Saudi

Steak 'n Shake, a leading burger chain, has signed a deal with AB Holdings, a Saudi-based multi-industry company, to open restaurants in the kingdom, as part of its global expansion strategy.

Together with AB Holding, Steak 'n Shake will open 50 restaurants all over Saudi Arabia in the coming years, it said in a statement.

Sardar Biglari, chairman of Biglari Holdings, which owns Steak 'n Shake, said: "I am honoured to partner with AB Holdings to bring Steak 'n Shake to Saudi Arabia. We now have forged a forceful beginning in the Middle East with total commitments for 90 restaurants."    

Faisal Abdullah Al Blehed, chief executive officer of AB Holdings, said: "We are excited to have a long-term co-operative relationship with Steak ‘n Shake. We look forward to building and developing great restaurants that deliver the highest quality of food operations and service in Saudi Arabia."

Steak 'n Shake will open its first location in Riyadh during the first half next year, he added. - TradeArabia News Service
