Depa buys Singapore's Design Studio for $80m

Dubai, August 29, 2010

Dubai-based interiors contractor Depa Ltd bought Singapore's Design Studio for 295 million dirhams ($80.34 million), as it looks to diversify its revenues and expand abroad.

Depa recently increased its stake in the furniture manufacturer to 90.5 percent from 24.7 percent having bought its first stake in 2006, it said in a statement on Saturday.

Depa said on Thursday it made a loss of 103.6 million dirhams in the first half of year due to an outstanding claim relating to Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower in Dubai. - Reuters
