Gulf Air supports community
Manama, September 6, 2008
Gulf Air, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has embarked on a series of initiatives in its bid to spread smiles and support the community during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative, which is part of the airlines new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan launched last week will see volunteers from the airline, including senior members of the management, visiting mosques throughout the kingdom to hand-deliver thousands of copies of the Holy Quran along with boxes full of packed dates and other eatables.
"The real essence of Ramadan is giving and it makes me extremely proud to be part of the National Carrier's initiative to reach out to the people and make a difference," said Jassim Al Marzooqi, Gulf Air’s vice president of Technical.
The airline will also be giving away Gargaoun to children arriving and departing from the Bahrain International Airport on September 16.
The initiatives are part of the airline’s efforts to foster community welfare and team spirit among the volunteers and other members of the society. - TradeArabia News Service
