DHA, Nestlé launch TV series on healthy lifestyle

DUBAI, UAE , May 29, 2016

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Nestlé have partnered to launch a TV series consisting of over 40 episodes which will air tips on eating healthy and leading a healthy lifestyle.

The partnership comes in light of the ‘Healthy Children 2021’, which aims to fight obesity. The TV series, will be broadcast of on Dubai TV and Sama Dubai where doctors and nutritionists from DHA will share advice on health and nutrition with members of society who strive for leading a healthy lifestyle in the UAE.  

Nestlé will contribute to the nutrition content development and production of 40 episodes, which will include health tips for children and cooking healthy meals for parents during the month of Ramadan.

The two-minute episodes will be aired before and after the news segment during the whole month of Ramadan in addition to August and October.

Humaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board and director general of DHA, met with officials from Nestlé at the authority’s headquarters. During the meeting Al Qatami said that the authority has collaborated with companies and organisations with the aim of reaching a healthier and happier society— an objective that is shared by both the DHA and its partners including Nestlé.

Al Qatami commended Nestlé for supporting children’s health through spreading preventive advice using awareness videos and other awareness campaigns.

In line with the objective of enforcing a healthy lifestyle and eating habits, Nestlé is also collaborating with DHA in the field of food science and nutrition through participating in scientific conferences, seminars and events.

The DHA was instrumental in the ‘Nestlé Healthy Kids-Ajyal Salima’ school nutrition education program, which aims to impact nutrition knowledge and healthy eating habits in children in Dubai.

It also supports the ‘United for Healthier Kids’ movement that aims to nurture healthier generations by helping parents encourage their children to adopt healthy eating habits and active lifestyle. –TradeArabia News Service
