Alba welcomes high-level Russian delegation

MANAMA, February 26, 2017

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based major aluminium smelter, received a high-level delegation from the Russian Federation headed by Sergey Tsyb, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, recently.

The delegation included Sergei Grishaev, head of development of non-ferrous metallurgy; Alexander Pankratov, assistant to deputy minister of industry and trade; and Anton Bazulev, director of international projects of UC Rusal.

Alba’s chief operations officer Amin Sultan and chief marketing officer Khalid A Latif welcomed the Russian delegation. Also present were Alba’s administration director Waleed Tamimi; manager legal Stephanus Grobler; and acting manager public relations, Fatema Al-Mohri.

Commenting on the visit of the Russian delegation, Latif said: “We express thanks to the Russian delegation for their visit during which we were able to demonstrate Alba’s pioneering role as the first smelter in the Middle East as well as its significant contribution towards supporting the national economy. We look forward to further strengthening business relations between Bahrain and Russia in the future.”

The delegation was given a tour of the smelter and shown the state-of-the-art production facilities that have enabled Alba to maintain its status as one of the world’s leading aluminium smelters. The delegation was also briefed on Alba’s Line 6 Expansion Project and its growth trajectory.  - TradeArabia News Service
