Action against firm for faulty cable production.

Clamp on cables firm in Saudi Arabia

MADINAH, November 30, 2015

Saudi authorities have halted the production of a specific type of cables at a manufacturing plant in the industrial area of Madinah, a report said.

The cables did not conform to Saudi standards and specifications, an Arab News report quoted an official from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) as saying.

“The cables tend to get heated and result in combustion, which can lead to a fire. Also, the cables did not match the length specified in the catalogue,” he said in the report.

The ministry called on buyers to stop using such cables immediately. Those who have already bought the cables have been advised to return them to the manufacturer and get their money back.
