MANAMA, May 5, 2015

Lamis Al Saif, a senior training specialist at the Specific Council for Training in Hospitality (SCHT), has been honoured by the Labour Ministry for 'long-standing contribution to human resource development in the industry'.

Al Saif joined the SCHT in 1990 as a trainee and has since risen to head the follow up of training of Bahrainis in the industry, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The award was given to Al Saif in a ceremony held under the patronage of Labour Minister and Supreme Council for Vocational Training chairman Jameel Humaidan at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister underscored the importance of the award in promoting employment and development of Bahrainis in the hospitality industry.

“Through such initiatives, we are recognising the leading role of distinguished Bahrainis and the organisations they represent in empowering and training locals to assume leading roles in both public and private establishments,” he said.

Also present on the occasion was SCHT chairman Ebrahim Mustafa Al Kooheji.

“We are very proud that one of our employees has received the award, which we consider as another shining example of our commitment to implementing best practices in the training and development needs of Bahrainis,” he pointed out. - TradeArabia News Service
