The UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development is carrying out three vital projects in the northern emirates of Sharjah and Umm Al Qaiwain, including two for the Ministry of Interior and one for the Justice Ministry, at a total cost of Dh171 million ($46.5 million), said a report.

The ministry pointed out that the engineering designs for all the three projects were prepared according to the standards for green buildings and sustainability, reported state news agency Wam.

The construction of the headquarters of the special security forces Unit 2 at Seeh Al Mahab in Al Dhaid, Sharjah, estimated to cost Dh69 million ($19 million), has begun, said the report, citing ministry officials.

The project is likely to be completed by the third quarter of 2018, it stated.

The Ministry of Interior is developing a new project in Umm Al Quwain which includes a building complex for UAE nationalities and residents to be built at a cost of around Dh57 million ($16 million). It is expected to be ready in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has also begun work on the Khorfakkan Court Building project in Sharjah, which is estimated to cost some Dh45 million ($12.4 million), said the report.

The building, which will come up on a 16,506 sq m area, is expected to be completed by the third quarter of next year, it added.
