Alstom unveils rail transport solutions at Turkey expo

ISTANBUL, March 2, 2017

Alstom, a world leader in integrated railway systems, is showcasing its complete rail transport solutions at the Eurasia Rail Turkey 2017 which kicked off today (March 02) in Istanbul.

Eurasia Rail – the third biggest rolling stock rail industry exhibition in the world and the largest in the Eurasia Region – will run in the Turkish capital till March 4.

Alstom has on display its complete rail transport solutions - from urban to high speed trains, and from signalling to services.

“Alstom has been a reliable partner for the Turkish railway sector for more than 60 years,” remarked Arban Citak, the managing director of Alstom Turkey.

“Alstom’s dedication to the Turkish market and to the development of the transport network which includes high speed and regional trains, metro, as well as signalling is confirmed by the growth in number and in expertise of our MEA Regional Hub in Istanbul’. Alstom is looking forward to further re-enforce its commitment to the development of Turkish railway sector and economy through participation in the upcoming railway projects”, she added.

Among the solutions Alstom will present on its booth, are Euroduplex High Speed Train with an optimised performance for conventional & high-speed lines; Pendolino , a high-speed train that operates on both conventional & high speed lines; The APS technology, a catenaryless solution for tramways with ground-level power supply solutions for reliability and optimised energy consumption, remarked Citak.

There will be a plenary session on Friday in which Alstom experts will present its high speed trains and industrial co-operation for signalling solutions.

Alstom said it has a strong tradition of bringing its global expertise in localisation, job creation and enrichment of the local supply chain to its projects.

In the past three years, Alstom has created over 200 jobs and partnered with several local suppliers, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
