Al Futtaim, a leading regional business house headquartered in Dubai, UAE, has appointed Dr Hayan Sayed as the new chief executive of Al Futtaim Engineering and Technologies.

Al Futtaim Engineering, a multi-disciplinary engineering organisation operating across UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia with over 30 years of successful operations, is part of Al Futtaim Group Real Estate, while Al Futtaim Technologies is a leading converged systems integrator providing complete business solutions to large, medium and small customers.

An industry veteran, Hayan brings with him over 30 years’ experience in strategic planning, market assessment, project feasibilities, mergers and acquisitions, engineering business unit management and process re-engineering across the Middle East and Europe region, said a statement from the company.

In his new role, Hayan will build and deliver the strategic direction and future vision along with the management team, drive a shared commitment to business excellence besides improving the business model and reduciing critical risk exposures, it stated.

Hayan holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Systems Engineering (Business Strategies) from the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine, France and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from Ecole des Mines, France.
