DUBAI, November 22, 2016

A total of 60 companies are showcasing some of the kingdom's best construction and building materials under the Saudi pavilion at the ongoing Big 5 expo in Dubai, UAE.

The Saudi pavilion, which was officially inaugurated yesterday (November 21), aims to promote the kingdom's exports of construction and building materials to all the Gulf states and international markets.

During its four years of participation, the pavilion had witnessed a remarkable turnout of visitors, said a top official of Saudi Export Development Authority.

This time, the companies are looking forward to make new trading deals and sign strategic partnership contracts and co-operation with a number of regional and international real estate and construction companies at the four-day event, remarked its secretary general Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Alhakbani.

The Saudi participation at Big 5 comes as a part of the authority’s strategic plan to increase non-oil exports and introduce the regional contracting sector to construction materials made in Saudi Arabia, he pointed out.

The authority, he stated, has been keen over the last four years on being present in major events and exhibitions, especially The Big 5 exhibition, due to its strong influence on regional and global levels.

Alhakbani said he was upbeat about the Saudi companies' prospects at the ongoing exhibition and saw them opening new export channels, attracting future business opportunities and expanding the volume of investment partnerships in regional and global markets.

"The Saudi pavilion will highlight the importance of the kingdom's products and their supremacy over other products in terms of quality and price, along with meeting the construction and building requirements in the region," he stated.

Alhakbani pointed out that the authority’s strategy included exploring export opportunities in global markets constantly due to the importance of increasing and diversifying exports portfolios in line with government efforts aiming at promoting non-oil sectors contribution in the national economy.

"We look towards creating an added value for Saudi manufacturers through our efforts and activities, which reflects positively on the national economy in general, and on the growth of national construction business in particular, by stimulating and enabling the companies to develop their business in the international markets," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
