'Workers Day Out' at giant ME theme park

DUBAI, October 24, 2016

Dubai Parks and Resorts, a leisure and entertainment destination built on a 16-million-sq-ft area in the UAE, organised a private preview event for its construction workforce to recognise their efforts 'in turning the theme park vision into reality.'

The owner of the facility DXB Entertainments last week hosted the special function for the workers at the Bollywood Parks as a sign of gratitude for their continuous hard work over the past three years.

The event started with a raffle draw that awarded monetary prizes to the participants which was sponsored by Dubai First, the destination’s official financial partner.

The workers enjoyed a wide range of fun activities, different stage acts and performances by the Bollywood Parks Dubai performers besides being treated to a variety of delicious food including treats from London Dairy and refreshments from Pepsi.

Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, the chief executive of DXB Entertainments, said: "We have come a long way since we broke ground on this magnificent entertainment destination in March 2013. This accomplishment would have not been possible without the support of our remarkable workforce, who worked round-the-clock to deliver this world-class theme park destination."

"This destination is a source of pride for every single person who participated in building it, as it will forever change the face of family tourism and the entertainment sector in the UAE and the region," he remarked.

Dubai Parks and Resort comprises three theme parks: Bollywood Parks Dubai a first-of-its-kind theme park that will showcase rides and attraction based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

Motiongate Dubai – a unique theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate as well as the region’s first Legoland Park and a Legoland Water Park.

The entire destination will be connected by Riverland Dubai - a retail and dining destination at the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts, and guests can stay at the Lapita Hotel, a Polynesian-themed family hotel part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.

Expected to open in late 2019, Six Flags Dubai will be destination’s fourth theme park and the region’s first Six Flags theme park, remarked Al Nuaimi.

"We were pleased to host members of our construction teams at Dubai Parks and Resorts, and were overjoyed to see their reactions when they experienced the product that they built," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
