Grohe, Philips offer novel musical shower experience

DUBAI, March 22, 2016

Grohe, one of the world’s leading providers of sanitary fittings, has joined hands with Philips Sound to unveil the Aquatunes waterproof Bluetooth speaker, thus bringing customers a high-quality, immersive musical experience in their showers or bathrooms.

The new system is very simple to handle for customers, said a company spokesman.

"You just need to pair the speaker with a smartphone or tablet and then enjoy your favourite music, radio station or any other source of audio. Aquatunes has been designed from the ground up to be a great-sounding, good-looking addition to your bathroom," he stated.

"Whether it’s singing along to your favourite song in the shower, starting your day by catching up with the news on the radio, or relaxing in the bath, Aquatunes enhances your experience. The speaker is the result of collaboration between two brands with a strong track record of innovation: Grohe, the bathroom and shower experts, and Philips, a leading brand in audio systems," he added.

According to him, Aquatunes is as simple as it is ingenious. "With its form designed by the Grohe Design Studio, the loudspeaker does not take up any shelf space – just attach its holder directly to the shower rail, lock it in place and turn it on to enjoy the music," the spokesman explained.

The organic, round shape of the speaker is reminiscent of the brand’s most popular hand showers, he stated.

Keeping things simple under the shower, Aquatunes has clearly marked buttons – on/off, volume up/down, previous/next track and for Bluetooth pairing.

Two LEDs (light emitting diodes) show the status of the Bluetooth connection, whether the loudspeaker is on as well as the battery status – all the information you need at first glance, said the spokesman.

"It’s easy to connect the speaker by pairing it with any smartphone, tablet or Bluetooth-enabled device. And with a range of up to 10 m, it’s simple to keep the playing device safe and dry. CE-certified and 100 per cent waterproof, the loudspeaker easily withstands not only the jets of water but can also handle falls from a height of up to 1.5 m," he explained.

Thanks to its anti-slip holder, the wireless loudspeaker can be used on all shower rails with a diameter between 20 and 25 mm, said the official.

"This means it will sit securely on 70 per cent of all shower rails and is also suitable for other places. To recharge Aquatunes, just remove it from the shower rail and place it in its handy charging station. The multifunctional dock also serves as a holder for the loudspeaker, which means that the battery can be recharged while still listening to music," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
