Oberlin ... project wins a testament to our broad range of expertise.

Farnek wins new contracts in UAE

DUBAI, October 28, 2015

Leading facilities management (FM) company Farnek has been awarded four new contracts, worth Dh10.87 million ($2.95 million) in the UAE.

As per the deal, Farnek will provide telecom major du, global power leader Cummins, UAE lender Mashreq Bank and Dubai’s luxury retail outlet Gold & Diamond Park, its full range of FM services at its facilities across the emirate.

Commenting on the win, CEO Markus Oberlin, said: “It is a great testament to the broad range of expertise we offer from cleaning and manpower outsourcing to mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and waste management consultancy, adding credibility to our claim of being a total FM company."

“Given the nuances within different industry sectors, it is also gratifying to win contracts in retail, banking, telecoms and mechanical engineering,” he added.

With du, Farnek said it has signed a one-year contract to provide 27 clerical staff working across 62 branches throughout the UAE. These members will also provide clerical and administrative support services to du’s existing employees.

This new appointment, is in addition to an earlier contract that was awarded to Farnek by the telecoms provider, to supply one hundred cleaners for Du’s offices in the UAE, it stated.

With Cummins, it has signed a three-year contract to provide MEP, HVAC as well as elevator maintenance and cleaning, for all the five branches across the UAE. Farnek will also manage third party contracts for the landscaping and pest control.

In the financial sector, Mashreq has commissioned Farnek to carry out HVAC (heating ventilating and air conditioning) maintenance services across 34 branches in Dubai, 10 in Abu Dhabi, and a further 12 in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates for a period of twelve months.

The agreement involves the permanent deployment of eight engineers for the length of the contract, said the statement from Farnek.

With Gold and Diamond Park, the FM major has signed a one-year contract for cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, generator and waste management consultancy that entails the placement of 32 cleaners and 15 maintenance engineers.

"Working with the banking sector demands flexibility to perform services outside of traditional working hours; something Farnek is familiar with having sealed many long-term partnerships with banks in the region," stated Oberlin.

"Similarly, facilities management within a retail environment requires a solid understanding of zones and mission critical assets which ensures customer satisfaction on multiple levels of the operation," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
