Qatar plans 55 new parks

DOHA, August 24, 2015

Qatar's Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning is set to build 44 new parks across the country, according to a report.

The plan is under study to meet public needs, Mohammed Ali Al Khoury, director of the Public Parks Department, was quoted as saying in The Peninsula report.

Two of the new parks will be opened in Umm Salal and Al Wakrah in a few months, it said.

The department is working with the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology to offer free Internet service at all parks and the shortage of lights and children’s games in parks will also be resolved, it added.
