Dammam steps up green drive with 23 parks

A total of 23 parks and public squares have been built in Dammam, Saudi Arabia during the past year, as part of an environmental drive launched by the Dammam Municipality, a report said.
A number of public parks have been constructed in Dammam, Dhahran and Al Khobar, Khalid bin Abdullah Bossbet, general manager of the Department for Parks, Afforestation and Environment in the Eastern Province, was quoted as saying by Arab News.
New neighbourhoods such as Dana Park in Dhahran, Roses Park in Taibah and Cloves Park in Al Manar, among others also witnessed the construction of new parks as part of the public parks programme of the Dammam Municipality, he added.
Several community squares have also been established in the Al Manar neighbourhood, according to the report.
“The establishment of even more parks and squares will be completed in the next few months, including 13 separate parks and squares in Taibah, Al Ali, Al Fakheriyah, Al Dhabab, Al Manar, Badr neighbourhoods and King Fahd and Al-Nada suburbs,” Bossbet was quoted in the report.
